Opened in 2014, the cuisine at Rain Restaurant and Rooftop Terrace has WOW’d many palates. At the helm of this dream team is our very own Executive Chef Samuel Gonzalez, an island native with a passion for excellence in fine dining. Chef’s culinary career began back in 2009 and in 2012, he answered his culinary calling by venturing into the food preparation arena resulting in him running his first diner in less than two years. The year 2014 marked the start of his Rain Restaurant journey initially as the understudy chef of Chef Hugo Meyer where Chef Samuel further cultivated and mastered his culinary skills and techniques. Today, he leads our “dream team” having solidified his culinary skills in baking, pastries, meats, sauces and spices, pastas as well as sushi preparation. Chef Samuel Gonzales’s leadership is complimented by two highly talented deputy Belizean chefs, Frank Varma and Sherlette Belisle. Chef Frank Varma is a well-known local chef with 8 years of experience. Chef Frank is an innovator in his own right consistently challenging himself to expand his knowledge in the preparation of different types of cuisines. Our Chef Sherlette is a local top chef with over twenty years of experience. Her vast culinary experience varies from balanced breakfast selections to tantalizing desserts.
